Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Michigan teaching license in Special Education (attach proof with your application)
- Experience supporting students with cognitive impairments preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
- Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging, and productive classroom environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Role Details & Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and adapt curriculum for high school-aged students with cognitive impairments
- Create a positive, structured learning environment supporting academic, behavioral, and social success
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other educators, counselors, parents, and support staff to meet each student's needs
- Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and attend regular meetings and professional development
- Communicate effectively with families, promoting a partnership in student achievement
Contract Details:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Two positions available
- Contract runs through June 10, 2027, with an immediate start date
- Serve high school students in a Cognitive Impairment classroom
