Special Education Teacher - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special needs at a K-12 charter school serving approximately 500 students. Two contract opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers at both the elementary and high school levels for the full academic year, from early August through the end of May. The role offers a consistent 37.5-hour workweek in a supportive environment, starting in August and continuing through the school year.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED) special education license required
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings preferred
- Strong collaboration skills; ready to work with school staff, administrators, and families
- Ability to design, adapt, and deliver individualized instructional plans
- Skilled in maintaining accurate records, documenting progress, and compliance with IEP requirements
- Background check completion and successful onboarding required before start date
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs
- Provide direct instruction in resource, inclusion, and/or self-contained settings as assigned
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring for assigned students
- Work closely with educational teams to provide a positive, nurturing environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student growth and needs
- Maintain accurate documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
