Qualifications & Experience
- Valid and active Pennsylvania teaching license
- Current PA PDE certification: Experience-Based Certificate in Special Education PK-12, Instructional I or II in relevant special education subject areas (must be agency-obtained)
- Demonstrated experience teaching students in special education settings
- Proficiency participating in IEP development and implementation
- Willingness and ability to work in-person exclusively
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in assigned schools throughout Carbon or Lehigh County
- Step into various classrooms, adapting quickly to different student populations and teaching environments
- Cover educator absences on a short-term or extended basis, ensuring continuity of instruction and care
- Collaborate with school teams to implement and support IEPs
- Maintain thorough records and foster a supportive, inclusive classroom climate
This contract runs from mid-August 2026 through early June 2027, aligning with the traditional school year. The itinerant nature of this position offers variety and valuable experience across diverse settings, while also allowing you to grow professionally within a supportive educational framework.
