ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a full-time, school-based contract position with a local school district in Anaconda, Montana. This opportunity is for a 7th-12th grade Life Skills classroom serving approximately 15-20 students.
The classroom is not fully self-contained, and the teacher will utilize direct instruction programs as much as possible to provide structured, individualized academic and life skills support. The district is looking for an educator who is passionate about helping students build academic, vocational, and independent living skills.

Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to students in grades 7-12 within a Life Skills classroom. The teacher will manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 students while developing and implementing individualized instruction based on each student's IEP goals and educational needs.
Courses taught include:
- Life Skills English: 11 students
- Life Skills Math: 9 students
- Learning Lab: 9 students
- Reading: 2 students
- Vocational Skills: 7 students
- Classroom Support/Prep
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction based on students' individual needs and learning goals
- Utilize direct instruction programs whenever appropriate
- Teach academic, vocational, and functional life skills to students in grades 7-12
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support diverse learners
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Collect and maintain accurate progress-monitoring data and documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support students' academic achievement, behavioral development, independence, and social-emotional growth
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active or eligible Montana Special Education Teaching License/Certification
- Previous school-based Special Education experience preferred
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred
- Ability to work onsite for the full school year
- Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience supporting students with a variety of learning and functional needs preferred
