Special Education Teacher - Andover, Minnesota
Step into a vital role where your expertise as a Special Education Teacher can make a significant difference in the lives of young students. This opportunity offers you the chance to lead a center-based classroom focused on Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) for a small group of K–2 students. You’ll work in a collaborative, high-support environment dedicated to student growth and positive behavioral interventions, all within a full-time, weekday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In this contract role, you will:
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License.
- Possess EBD licensure (strongly preferred).
- Have experience supporting students with significant behavioral needs, particularly in a Level 3 behavioral setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs.
- Be skilled in effective behavior intervention, de-escalation, and classroom consultation.
- Excel in communication and teamwork with support staff and specialists.
Preferred Experience:
- Background working in a K–2 center-based special education classroom.
- Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, or restorative practices.
- Training in trauma-informed instructional approaches.
