Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota
Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Resource Teacher. Work onsite in an engaging and inclusive educational environment with a dedicated student caseload. This role will begin late August and continue through early June, with full-time weekday hours.
The position focuses on providing specialized instruction, accommodations, and supportive interventions to elementary learners, collaborating closely with staff and families for each child’s success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Minnesota Teaching Certification, Tier 3 or 4 (must submit a valid copy with your resume)
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within an elementary resource setting
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Commitment to positive partnerships with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instructional support to elementary resource students in alignment with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
- Support social, behavioral, and academic growth through data-driven interventions
- Maintain thorough records and progress monitoring for assigned caseload
- Participate in IEP meetings, staffing sessions, and ongoing professional development
