Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota

If you are passionate about supporting elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays and hold the necessary credentials, this is an excellent contract opportunity for the upcoming school year. The position involves working with a dedicated elementary caseload in a center-based setting. You'll play a key role in creating a positive and empowering learning environment for every student you serve.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching licensure in Special Education, Tier 3 or 4 required (please attach certification for consideration)
- Experience working with students with developmental and cognitive delays at the elementary level is strongly preferred
- Skill in adapting instruction and utilizing evidence-based strategies for unique learning needs
- Ability to collaborate with families, general education staff, and support personnel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction for students with developmental and cognitive delays in a center-based classroom
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to support each student's academic and behavioral growth
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support
- Create an inclusive, structured environment that encourages participation and fosters independence
- Track student progress, conduct data collection, and complete necessary documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in relevant professional development and team meetings
