Special Education Teacher in Andover, MN
Make an impact supporting students’ growth as a Special Education Teacher for an elementary DCD (Developmental and Cognitive Delay) Centerbase program. This contract position, based in a vibrant elementary setting, involves working onsite to guide and empower young learners, beginning in late August and continuing through early June. The role offers consistent weekday hours, providing meaningful opportunities to support students’ individualized learning journeys and collaborate closely with colleagues and families in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4)—must be provided along with your resume for consideration
- Previous experience working with elementary-age students with developmental and cognitive delays strongly preferred
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom environments
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Passion for advocacy, accessibility, and student achievement
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to elementary students in a dedicated DCD Centerbase classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams and families

- Utilize research-based instructional strategies and behavioral supports
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participate in team meetings
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, staff, and the school community
