Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Minnesota teaching certification is required (Tier 3 or 4 only); candidates must be able to present certification and resume for consideration
- Demonstrated experience working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) in a school-based environment
- Deep understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
- Strong classroom management skills and excellent communication abilities
- Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams, including paraeducators and related services staff
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately nine students with DCD, using evidence-based practices and adapting lessons to individual learning needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs in collaboration with families and school-based teams
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes both academic and social growth
- Collect data on student progress and participate actively in IEP meetings
- Support inclusion initiatives by working closely with general education staff
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to foster open partnerships
