Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota teaching license in one or more areas: Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or Oral/Aural Education (Birth-age 21 or K-12).
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in special education.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
- Proficient in computer operations, data entry, and using school information systems.
- Knowledge of school office procedures and policies.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Preferred: 3+ years administrative experience and/or background working in urban, diverse school populations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the assessment process for students referred for special education, gathering and interpreting data to support comprehensive evaluation reports in line with IDEA, state, and district standards.
- Guide and assist case managers in meeting due process timelines, offering expertise on compliance and documentation standards set forth by the Minnesota Department of Education.
- Review, verify, and ensure the completeness of new and existing special education student records, addressing any compliance concerns.
- Support staff and students through supervision duties, including bus, breakfast, and lunch duty as assigned.
- Maintain effective, positive relationships with students, families, and staff, upholding confidentiality and promoting a collaborative school culture.
