Special Education Teacher - Andover, MN

This contract opportunity runs from September 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering a meaningful position with a diverse caseload across elementary through high school levels.
As part of a dedicated team, you'll serve students in a specialized Setting 4 environment—a setting for those with the highest behavioral needs and most significant disabilities. Your expertise and compassion will offer stability and growth for students requiring intensive support during the school year. This position works Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, within a well-resourced facility focused on holistic student development.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Current Minnesota Special Education Teacher license required (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only).
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest working in high-needs or Setting 4 environments.
- Ability to manage behavioral concerns and de-escalate situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusion within a multi-age, multi-level caseload.
- Strong collaborative skills, working closely with fellow educators, support staff, and families.
- Confidence using data-driven instruction and progress monitoring tools to adapt teaching approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities and intensive behavioral needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
- Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging classroom culture.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
