Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification with CI or ASD endorsement required
- Previous experience working in ASD and/or CI classrooms at the elementary level is highly desirable
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials to meet individual learning needs
- Passion for cultivating an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners
Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for either ASD or CI self-contained classrooms, or provide targeted support within a resource room
- Differentiate teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Monitor student progress, develop and implement IEPs, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with fellow educators, families, and support staff to best serve each student
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Contribute to a positive, respectful learning atmosphere that encourages student growth
