Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by stepping into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher. Beginning August 24, 2026 through June 4, 2027, you’ll work with a supportive community dedicated to delivering the best educational experiences to elementary students in specialized settings. Three dynamic positions are open, including two teachers for ASD/CI classrooms and one educator for our resource room. This role provides the chance to bring your expertise and passion for inclusion to a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Current, valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification in CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, parents, and support staff
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to elementary students in ASD/CI classrooms or in a resource room setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in alignment with student needs and district guidelines
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment where students feel empowered and valued
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
