Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching certification (Tier 3 or 4) is required and must be attached alongside your resume during application
- Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly at the elementary level
- In-depth knowledge of DCD best practices and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with staff and families
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays
- Manage IEP processes, ensure compliance, and regularly monitor student progress
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet varying student needs within the center-based model
- Partner with classroom aides, therapists, and general education staff for holistic student support
- Foster an encouraging and structured learning environment that supports both academic and social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
