Special Education Teacher | Anoka, Minnesota

In this position, you’ll work onsite with a caseload of approximately nine students, providing specialized instruction and support designed to help each learner reach their potential. The setting is structured to balance meaningful learning with supportive resources and professional guidance.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required; certification required to be submitted with your application)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with a focus on students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD)
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for students with significant learning needs
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to individualized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for DCD students
- Deliver adaptive instruction both one-on-one and in small groups
- Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize growth
- Partner with families to foster continuity and advocacy between home and school
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to compliance standards
This contract starts in late August 2026 and runs through June 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule of 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
