Special Education Teacher - Anoka, Minnesota

Make a difference for students with developmental cognitive disabilities by engaging with a dedicated school community in a rewarding special education teaching position. Our district seeks a passionate educator to work onsite, supporting a small caseload of nine students at the elementary level. Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license in Special Education (please attach certification with your resume)
- Previous experience working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD) preferred
- Strong communication skills and commitment to inclusive education practices
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Organized, flexible, and team-oriented
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students identified with DCD, adapting materials and lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- Develop and monitor IEPs, collaborating with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Foster a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom environment
- Document student progress, implement data-driven instructional strategies, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain compliance with all district and state regulations related to special education
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students within the school community
Position Details:
- Contract assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday (approximate schedule: 8:30AM-4:30PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
