Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota teaching credential with a Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities endorsement (required)
- Experience working in special education settings, particularly with center-based classrooms, is highly preferred
- Ability to create individualized learning plans and supportive classroom environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional lessons and support for students with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEP development and review
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all school and district policies
- Foster a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom environment
