Special Education Teacher in Anoka, MN
Make a real difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities through an engaging contract position for the upcoming school year. You’ll provide essential instruction and support to a small caseload of approximately nine elementary-aged students, empowering them to grow, learn, and reach their full potential. This onsite role offers a steady schedule Monday through Friday, working alongside a dedicated team of educators within an inclusive environment focused on benefiting every student.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching Certification is required—only candidates with a valid Tier 3 or Tier 4 license will be considered
- Demonstrated experience working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities or willingness to learn
- Previous teaching experience in Special Education classrooms preferred
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices in differentiation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for approximately nine students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
- Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to meet student needs
- Foster a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families to support student progress
- Collect data and maintain accurate records in compliance with all special education requirements
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to team decision-making
Expect a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, with school-day hours from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
