Special Education Teacher - Arvada, CO
Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant middle school environment. This full-time, onsite contract role runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering the chance to inspire and collaborate within a dedicated multidisciplinary team. As an integral member of a classroom with 10 students, several peer mentors, and the ongoing support of paraeducators, BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and psychology/social work professionals, your expertise will help foster student growth every day.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience required
- Must have, or be in the process of obtaining, a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license (active status must be documented with your application)
- Proven ability to work flexibly and positively within a dynamic team environment
- Genuine passion for supporting students with a variety of needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student goals and needs
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, collaborating closely with paraeducators and multidisciplinary team members
- Engage with and guide students, peer mentors, and families to encourage social, academic, and emotional development
- Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members, students, and parents
