What you bring:
- Current Michigan Special Education Teacher license (required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Creative approach to lesson planning and adapting curriculum to student needs
- Ability to maintain a positive, structured classroom with a maximum of 8 students
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support based on IEPs, adjusting methods to suit diverse learning styles
- Foster a safe, patient, and encouraging classroom atmosphere so every student feels welcome and empowered
- Partner with general education teachers, aides, and specialists to promote inclusion and academic progress
- Effectively track and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, celebrating milestones and addressing any concerns
- Uphold all state and federal special education regulations and documentation requirements
