Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Michigan Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain one before the start date
- Demonstrated experience working with high school students in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) educational strategies and best practices
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Manage all aspects of classroom instruction and behavioral support for high school students with ASD
- Monitor students’ academic, social, and behavioral progress, and adjust interventions as necessary
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external professionals to promote student success and well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations for special education
