Two positions are available for passionate Special Education Teachers eager to start as soon as possible and continue through June 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and active Michigan teaching license in Special Education (upload a screenshot of your credential with your application).
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with cognitive impairments at the high school level.
- Familiarity with individualized education plan (IEP) development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, families, support staff, and administration.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that promotes growth and independence.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with cognitive impairments.
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs in partnership with IEP teams.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom climate that encourages student participation and learning.
- Assess student skills, track progress, and report outcomes to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and instructional assistants to support student integration and achievement.
- Participate actively in school meetings, training, and professional development throughout the contract term.
