Special Education Teacher | Bedford, Indiana
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with special needs as an Intense Intervention Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract assignment. Qualifications:
- Active Indiana teaching license with an endorsement or certification in Intense Intervention
- Prior experience teaching students with significant needs, preferably in a school-based setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general educators, related service providers, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate, flexible, and committed to creating positive student outcomes
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specially designed instruction for a caseload of around eight students requiring intense intervention
- Create and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Track student progress, adjust interventions, and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
