Special Education Teacher - Belmont, North Carolina

In this dynamic contract opportunity, Special Education Teachers are needed to support students across elementary, middle, and high school sites in a resource-based setting with a few adapted curriculum assignments. Qualifications:
- Active teaching license or eligibility for Special Education in North Carolina
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in resource or adapted curriculum environments strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and support personnel
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver special education instruction in resource rooms, with occasional work in adapted curriculum settings
- Design, implement, and track progress on individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Employ evidence-based interventions and differentiated instructional strategies
- Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers and parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations
