Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience teaching or supporting special education at the elementary level
- Strong background in ELA instruction and adapted curriculum development
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain a nurturing and structured classroom
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated ELA instruction to 2nd grade students in a self-contained or inclusive setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Track and evaluate student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Engage regularly with families, providing updates and resources
- Participate in planning meetings, IEP conferences, and professional learning opportunities
