Spanish Special Education Teacher in Berwyn, IL
Shape young minds and make a difference as a Bilingual Special Education Teacher for grades 6th through 8th! This onsite, contract position spans from mid-August 2026 to early June 2027, and places you in a nurturing, junior high classroom environment where your expertise and passion will impact students every day.
You’ll work directly with a small group—no more than 20 students per class—helping to create an inclusive space that supports both academic and personal growth for diverse learners. The ideal candidate offers a steady, dedicated approach, with a strong track record of success working with junior high or high school youth, and is comfortable delivering instruction in both English and Spanish.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Valid Special Education licensure in Illinois
- Demonstrated experience supporting junior high or high school students
- History of commitment and consistency in education roles
- Passion for student-centered, individualized learning approaches
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in a junior high setting
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored for individual students’ strengths and challenges
- Foster a learning environment that prioritizes student engagement, inclusion, and growth
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and general educators to ensure whole-child support
- Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding progress and strategies
- Maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing professional development
