Spanish Special Education Teacher in Berwyn, IL

Seeking a skilled Bilingual Special Education Teacher to support 6th-8th grade students in an engaging and culturally diverse junior high setting. This contract position runs from mid-August 2026 through early June 2027 at a supportive educational environment. You will work closely with a small class of 20 or fewer students, fostering a student-centered classroom for young learners requiring both English and Spanish instruction.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Valid Illinois Special Education teaching license
- Recent experience with junior high or high school students (grades 6-12 preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to career consistency in education roles
- Strong ability to adapt teaching for individual learning needs, prioritizing student growth and engagement
- Experience managing small class sizes with a collaborative teaching approach
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver instruction tailored to special education students in both English and Spanish
- Create inclusive, supportive, and dynamic learning experiences for junior high students
- Foster a classroom environment that prioritizes student well-being and educational development
- Cultivate positive relationships with students and their families to encourage open communication and support
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and administrators to optimize student outcomes
- Prepare and maintain documentation as required by the school's special education program
