Make an impact supporting students in grades 3-5 as a Special Education Teacher for a short-term contract opportunity. The position is conveniently structured around a part-time schedule—3.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday—beginning as soon as possible and potentially extending through the end of September.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (state-specific credentials required)
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students, specifically grades 3-5
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff and families
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learner needs
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10 students, delivering targeted, evidence-based instruction and support
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), aligning goals with student strengths and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain organized, timely records and documentation in compliance with school and district procedures
- Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom atmosphere to encourage student growth and engagement
