Help shape young lives in a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained Autism classroom near Bloomfield, NJ. Two contract opportunities are available for the upcoming school year: one for a Kindergarten ABA teacher and one for a 1st-2nd grade ABA teacher. This position offers a chance to make an immediate impact with students who are primarily non-verbal and who benefit greatly from structured, evidence-based instruction.
Key Details:
- Assignment runs from September 1, 2026, through June 25, 2027
- Full-time schedule within a collaborative learning atmosphere
- Classes follow a self-contained model for students with autism, employing Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and other ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid certification as either:
- Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) and Elementary Education (K–6), or
- Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)
- Experience with ABA methodologies is preferred; strong candidates eager to learn will also be considered
- Comfortable working with non-verbal students and seeking innovative, compassionate approaches to help them thrive
- Passion for individualized instruction and collaborative planning to optimize learning outcomes
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction using DTT and ABA principles
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment where every student’s growth is celebrated
- Collaborate with related service providers and families to ensure aligned educational goals
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress
