Special Education Teacher | Bonaire, Georgia
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting a student in an individualized home-based learning environment as a certified special education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher. The ideal candidate will work exclusively with a student in his home, ensuring comprehensive academic instruction and providing sign language interpretation for his other essential services. Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification in Special Education and/or as a DHH teacher
- Proficiency in sign language and experience interpreting for deaf/hard of hearing students
- Previous experience delivering academic instruction in special education settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work on-site in the student’s home (travel required)
- Ability to design and adapt lessons to align with the student’s IEP goals
Responsibilities:
- Deliver all academic instruction in alignment with the student's individual education plan
- Serve as a sign language interpreter during therapies, vision instruction, and other related services
- Collaborate with the student's therapists and service providers to ensure a comprehensive learning experience
- Track academic progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Communicate regularly with family members and school representatives
