Qualifications & Experience
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Special Education or a related field
- Previous experience working with K-12 students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEPs, learning strategies, and assistive technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusive education principles
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods for varying learning needs
- Provide direct instruction in both individual and small group formats
- Track student progress and document performance
- Engage with parents, support staff, and fellow educators to promote student success
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Maintain up-to-date records and comply with school and legal guidelines
