Special Education Teacher | Brockton, Massachusetts

This contract opportunity—based near Brockton, MA—offers an engaging role in an alternative high school supporting students with moderate behavioral needs who have been referred from local districts. Beginning as early as July 6th for the Extended School Year (ESY), you'll work alongside another dedicated teacher, ensuring a supportive and collaborative classroom, particularly with a focus on Math and Science.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid general education or special education teaching certification
- Experience in special education settings strongly preferred
- Skills or background in high school Math and Science instruction
- Knowledge of strategies for managing moderate behavioral needs
- Adaptability and strong communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Math and Science instruction tailored to individual student learning plans
- Collaborate closely with a teaching partner in a co-taught classroom environment
- Develop, implement, and track IEP goals in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment for students managing behavioral challenges
- Participate in student support meetings and communicate progress with interdisciplinary teams and families
