Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified Special Education Teacher (current, valid certification required)
- Additional certification or endorsement in Science
- Experience teaching at the high school level preferred
- Strong understanding of diverse learning needs, IEP development, and classroom adaptations
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with general educators, parents, and related service staff
- Passion for supporting student growth and achievement in inclusive and self-contained settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to high school students with special education needs in science subjects
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress toward goals
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support student success and positive classroom environments
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Communicate regularly with families and key stakeholders regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Support classroom management and foster a safe, productive learning space
