What we’re looking for:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Proven experience working with students of varying abilities and educational needs
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementing accommodations/modifications
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with staff, families, and related service providers
- Adaptability, creativity, and patience in responding to student challenges
- Proficiency in tailoring lesson plans and assessments for compliance and student growth
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized and small group instruction based on each student’s IEP
- Creating an engaging, supportive, and safe classroom environment
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records for student progress and IEPs
- Working closely with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Implementing classroom management techniques that foster both independence and positive behavior
- Participating in meetings, professional development, and other school-based activities as needed
