Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, Minnesota
Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting students with diverse learning needs this school year. Multiple contract positions are open for Special Education Teachers—full-time and part-time—with assignments beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 2027.
Full-time opportunities are available at day and middle schools, each with manageable caseloads of around 20 students and the support of paraprofessionals and behavioral aides. An additional part-time role at an elementary school, plus a second part-time opening (location to be confirmed), offer flexibility for those seeking reduced hours. There is also the possibility of a unique early childhood position, which involves home visits to work with families and their youngest learners.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Minnesota teaching license in Special Education is required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in school-based settings is strongly preferred
- Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adaptable to working across a variety of grade levels and student needs
- Able to manage documentation and reporting in compliance with district and state standards
- Reliable and professional, committed to fostering growth for all learners
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions for students with special needs
- Maintain accurate special education records, progress reports, and documentation
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom climate
- For early childhood educators: conduct home visits and offer family support
