Multiple openings are available, each offering the chance to lead a dedicated classroom:
- An ASD/DCD center-based class for students with cognitive disabilities, focusing on alternative curriculum and personalized supports such as mobility assistance and AAC devices.
- An A+ program for students with autism spectrum disorder, centered on skill-building for integration into general education environments.
- A MAPD class for students with emotional behavior disorders, also working toward greater inclusion and regulation skill development.
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license (MN SPED) required
- Experience working with a spectrum of disabilities, including cognitive, behavioral, and functional needs
- Proficiency supporting students using alternative curricula, adaptive communication, or mobility devices
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning space
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized instruction tailored to IEP goals
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and self-care growth
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress reports
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive instructional materials as needed
