Special Education Teacher - Cambridge, MA

This contract opportunity runs throughout the 26/27 school year, with the option to dive in sooner by participating in ESY starting July 6th. Working in classrooms where two teachers are always present ensures a strong partnership and a supportive work atmosphere. The focus is on delivering effective math and science instruction to students referred from local districts.
This position welcomes both general education and special education-certified teachers, though prior special education experience is highly desired. By helping shape individualized educational paths, you’ll play a pivotal role in the academic and personal growth of your students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification (special education or general education accepted)
- Prior experience in special education strongly preferred
- Background in high school math and/or science instruction
- Strong classroom management abilities to support students with moderate behavioral needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Co-teach math and science content to high school students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with another classroom teacher to maintain a positive and structured learning environment
- Adapt instruction and materials for individual learner requirements
- Implement positive behavior intervention strategies
- Monitor student progress and participate in IEP team meetings as needed
