Special Education Teacher | Cambridge, Massachusetts

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience or strong interest in working within a Developmental Learning Classroom environment
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Adaptability and a creative approach to lesson planning and instruction
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and adapt instruction for students with a range of developmental needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with other educators, related service providers, and support staff to ensure student success
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and strategies for continued growth at home
- Track data and document student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions
- Participate in IEP meetings and help develop effective strategies tailored to each student's strengths and areas of need
