Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensure or certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Compassion, adaptability, and a passion for supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in grades 1-3
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and growth
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
