Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Massachusetts
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning styles and abilities
- Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to student needs
- Provide direct instruction in small groups and individually
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related services staff, and families to ensure student progress
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that fosters independence and positive social interactions
- Track student data and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary team activities
