Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Special Education certification or Delaware General Education certification (required)
- Previous experience teaching in a special education or elementary school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
- Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities
This role begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2026. You’ll enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule at 37.5 hours per week, allowing for a balanced approach to work and personal commitments.
