Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education, or eligibility for a reciprocal license if currently licensed in another state.
- Experience in a classroom setting is preferred, but not required; motivated new teachers are welcome.
- Demonstrated passion for education, student advocacy, and the special education field.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working closely with colleagues, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach in a middle school special education setting, supporting students’ individualized learning needs.
- Develop and implement differentiated educational plans according to IEPs.
- Foster an inclusive and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and other educators to ensure student success.
- Participate in school-wide meetings, ongoing training, and professional development.
