Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience supporting students with dyslexia or providing reading intervention (preferred)
- Dyslexia and reading intervention certifications are highly desirable, but free training is available
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in a self-contained setting is an advantage
- Dedication to inclusive, student-centered teaching practices
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to a class of eight middle school students
- Implement specialized reading and dyslexia intervention strategies
- Design, adapt, and deliver lessons that meet varied learning needs
- Track and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
- Meet compliance and documentation requirements for special education
