Step into a meaningful role supporting a 13-year-old student with Autism who is currently experiencing school refusal and is gradually increasing their school participation. This part-time contract position is based near Centralia, MO and provides an opportunity to make a direct impact while working 8 hours per week, with the possibility for increased hours as the student progresses. The start date is as soon as possible, allowing you to quickly begin helping the student grow in their academic journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Current license or certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience developing and adapting instruction for students with Autism
- Ability to implement individualized strategies that support gradual re-entry to school
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with families and other professionals
- Compassion, patience, and a student-centered approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized academic instruction in accordance with the student’s current needs and IEP goals
- Develop and maintain a supportive, encouraging environment to help the student transition back to school
- Regularly assess the student’s engagement and modify strategies as appropriate to encourage participation
- Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure continuity of care and educational goals
- Maintain accurate records of student progress as required
- Case management duties are not required for this position
