In this role, you’ll focus on supporting a 13-year-old student with Autism who is currently experiencing school refusal. You’ll work in a strategic, individualized setting to increase their engagement and participation, all without the need for additional case management duties.
Qualifications:
- Must hold relevant certification/licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Previous experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder strongly preferred
- Ability to engage and motivate students who are hesitant or resistant to traditional school settings
- Compassionate, patient, and skilled in individualized instruction
- Flexible and adaptable to evolving student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-on-one instruction to titrate up the student’s school participation
- Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to implement effective strategies
- Track student progress and adjust instructional approach as needed
- Model and foster a supportive, positive learning environment
