Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' diverse needs in a high-priority, inclusive educational environment. Work onsite with dedicated life skills, transition, and structured intensive support programs for secondary-level students. Multiple full-time openings are available with placements at various high schools within a 30-minute commute of Fairfax, Central, or Hayden. This position runs from July 27th through May 21st.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
- Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
- IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Proven experience with students with emotional disabilities and/or challenges related to prosocial and self-regulatory skills
- Understanding of the needs of at-risk, ethnically diverse, limited English proficient, and exceptional students
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing special services activities in alignment with federal, state, and district mandates
- EE.E.I. training (or willingness to participate in staff development sessions)
- Availability July 21–24 for required CIE
- Comfortable working exclusively onsite across various district schools
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support within inclusion/SUCCESS (approx. 25 students), practical (16), CBT (14, focusing on life skills, transitions, and functional academics), or STRIVE 6–8 classrooms (self-contained/behavior/Autism support)
- Develop and adapt individualized education and transition plans
- Collaborate with general and special education teams to foster a positive, supportive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and related services providers
- Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
