Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Special Education teaching license in North Carolina, or eligibility to apply for a reciprocal license with an active license from another state
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience working in a school environment is preferred; enthusiastic new educators are also welcome to apply
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to collaborative teaching
- Genuine passion for working with students with diverse needs
- Excellent work ethic and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a co-teacher with general education staff to support student learning and achievement
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
- Provide differentiated instruction and specialized interventions in a middle school setting
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom climate to encourage student growth and engagement
- Maintain open communication with school staff and families
