Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active South Carolina Teaching License required
- Valid certifications in both Special Education and Early Childhood Education
- Multi-Categorical endorsement mandatory for certain positions
- Demonstrated experience with resource and self-contained classrooms (elementary and high school levels)
- Committed to fostering the academic and emotional growth of students with unique learning needs
- Strong ability to collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families
- Positive references and a passion for making a difference in students’ lives
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to K-2 multi-category self-contained students at the primary school level
- Support K-5 students as an EC Resource Teacher at the elementary level (in-person)
- Teach and provide individualized instruction for elementary severe (grades 3-5) and high school mild ID self-contained classrooms
- Adapt curriculum and create engaging learning environments tailored to student needs
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and collaborate during IEP meetings
- Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
