Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina Teaching License required
- BOTH Special Education and Early Childhood degree/certification needed for EC PCD (3-4 years)
- SPED Multi-Categorical endorsement necessary for K-3 ID Mild/Moderate Self-contained
- Strong expertise in adaptive learning strategies and differentiated instruction
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with classroom staff, therapists, and administrators
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to early childhood students (ages 3-4) and K-3 students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in alignment with district and state guidelines
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that fosters growth for every student
- Work closely with families and caregivers to support student needs and progress
- Collect data on student performance and adjust strategies to optimize learning
- Provide ongoing collaboration with general education teachers and support staff
