Qualifications/Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certification/licensure appropriate for special education caseload
- Bachelor’s degree (necessary for emergency teaching permit)
- Demonstrated mastery in K-2 subject matter and instructional skills
- Prior experience in urban schools and with elementary-level special education students
- Strong in classroom and behavioral management
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to complete all PA clearances
- Must be comfortable working 8:30AM-4PM onsite, with no schedule accommodations
- Familiarity and comfort with district policies and environment
- Experience creating lesson plans aligned with current standards, and differentiating instruction
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to K-2 special education students
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and assessments
- Manage classroom behavior proactively and constructively
- Participate in scheduled meetings, IEPs, and professional development
- Utilize diverse teaching resources and collaborate with colleagues and leadership
