Special Education Teacher - Chicago, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher. An engaging contract position is available near Chicago, IL, dedicated to providing essential services to 4th and 5th graders. This full-time assignment offers the chance to work in a collaborative environment, guiding a small group of 8-10 students at the intermediary resource level.
As a valued educator in this role, you'll deliver both push-in and pull-out instruction for English Language Arts and Math. You'll work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a total of 35 hours per week. The assignment is set to begin August 14 and run through the end of September, covering an FMLA leave, with a possible extension depending on school needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 and PEL certifications (please include a screenshot of your license at the end of your resume)
- Experience working with special education students, particularly at the elementary/intermediate level
- Ability to effectively deliver resource services in both push-in and pull-out settings
- Commitment to individualized instruction and accommodations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to attend an onsite interview
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted ELA and Math instruction to students in resource settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive learning environment tailored to diverse needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate records and document progress
